I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Registered Play Therapist™. As a graduate of Radford University and Virginia Tech my services continue to foster healing in the community that trained me. My specialty is in working with children and young-adults addressing issues of adjustment, anxiety, minority and cultural stressors, gender-based violence, depression and trauma. My skill set involves a variety of techniques including Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. I also enjoy using a variety of interventions such as bibliotherapy, creative arts work, and mindfulness. I love working with all ages, however, kids may be my favorite! Playing truly allows for free expression. While play therapy is often geared towards younger children, studies show it is effective across the lifespan; meaning, you’re never too old to play!
This group will explore the process of the therapist and navigating the becoming identity of a licensed clinician. We will explore clinical supervision topics and often incorporate expressive modalities like art, music or other activities to process the supervisee experience and learn new techniques to support deepening the therapeutic process.
Clinical Supervision Curriculum and Framework: will review each identified topic presented by the Virginia Board of Counseling Case Staffing and Presentation: Will use the time to present and receive and give feedback on current cases, including reviewing video of sessions
