I am a Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience in behavioral health, clinical practice, consultation, and counselor development. I am also a Certified Somatic Sexologist and a doctoral student in Human Sexuality. My professional interests include sexuality, relationships, identity, body image, culturally responsive care, and affirming support for diverse and historically marginalized communities. I approach supervision as a collaborative and developmental relationship in which I serve as a teacher, consultant, coach, and mentor. Supervision is tailored to each resident’s experience, learning needs, clinical setting, and professional goals. Residents can expect support with case conceptualization, treatment planning, clinical interventions, documentation, ethical decision-making, professional boundaries, and caseload management. My supervision style is supportive, direct, and appropriately challenging. I encourage residents to examine not only what they are doing clinically, but also why they are doing it and how culture, identity, power, lived experience, and personal reactions may influence the therapeutic relationship. I provide honest and respectful feedback while creating space for questions, reflection, accountability, and growth. My goal is not to create clinicians who practice exactly as I do. Instead, I help residents develop the competence, confidence, self-awareness, and ethical foundation needed to establish an authentic clinical identity of their own. I especially value working with residents who are open to feedback, committed to culturally responsive practice, and willing to remain curious as they grow.
